The short answer
Tryst Link currently costs nothing to use. The free plan includes the core URL-shortening features most people need, while the browser-based QR generator remains free as well.
Included
The plan is deliberately small: useful link tools without an enterprise feature catalogue attached.
Create clean Tryst Link URLs and manage them from your account.
Choose a readable short code when you want something easier to recognize or share.
Keep short links in your account and delete them when you no longer need them.
Set an expiry date when a short link should stop redirecting.
Generate QR codes locally in your browser and download PNG or SVG files.
Read practical guides about URLs, QR codes, privacy, security, and the working web.
Why it is free
Tryst Link is intentionally focused. The QR generator runs in the browser, the Journal is mostly static content, and the shortener is built around a narrow set of link-management features rather than a large marketing platform.
That keeps the service simpler to operate and lets the current plan remain free without inventing a paid tier just to make the pricing page look more conventional.
We would rather explain the trade-off plainly than promise that infrastructure costs can never change.
The trade
If costs grow
If operating costs eventually require paid features, the pricing will be explained here in plain English before it takes effect. The likely direction would be charging for genuinely expensive or advanced capabilities rather than artificially crippling the basic shortener.
Do not add complexity just to justify a subscription.
Advanced or resource-heavy features are the natural place for a future paid tier.
Pricing changes belong on the pricing page, not hidden inside a policy update.
Reasonable use
Tryst Link may restrict malicious, automated, abusive, or unusually resource-intensive activity when necessary to keep the service available and safe. Normal human use should not need to think about this.
